How to get your team to complete tasks without reminders
In this explainer video of the Quadrite Operational Excellence Podcast, Deb explains that creating the behavior you want in your team as in executive management is not about telling your team to complete a task or sending them more email reminders to get the task done, but rather communicating the importance of the task through action and showing by example.
Deb shares a story of how he helps an executive solve a management problem where the executive’s team was not completing training on time. Deb advises the executive, instead of measuring training completion once every 6 months in management meetings, to measure training completion once a month, a change of process, and communication by action to show the team the importance of training completion instead of telling them.
Remember, your team members come to work motivated to help the company succeed. As a leader, you can show the team the importance of their task and motivate them to change their behavior to align with your direction by showing by change of process and example.
